Harold Clark Simmons Hall and Quad
http://www.vaughnconstruction.com/news/ ... 3-projects
Does anyone have any other renderings of what this is going to look like other than the official given by SMU along with that I was looking at the planned re-do of Mac's Place and it seemed like they are extending Mac's to take over the quad area on south campus. https://www.smu.edu/~/media/Site/PDC/Ca ... =150&w=350
Also has SMU released the new Master Plan yet, I was under the impression that they were working on it.

I think Harold Simmons hall is just to the south of Annett Simmons hall, and is a twin building.

I thought that it was going to be going on the corner of airline and mcfarlin on the north side of the dawson center. Is there any buildings that are planned for this area?

Here's a link to the campus master plan map:
http://www.smu.edu/BusinessFinance/PDC/ ... MasterPlan
This shows two buildings in orange just to the south of the current Simmons Hall that will make up the new quad. They're currently putting in a parking lot to the east that will be used by those who currently park in the "F" and "Simmons" lots that will be taken by the new building construction.
The current campus map - https://sites.smu.edu/apps/campus-map/ - also shows where Harold Simmons Hall will be built (it currently says "under construction") I'd be willing to bet construction will get underway pretty quickly once the new parking lot on the east side of Airline between McFarlin & University is finished and open - last time I drove past it was about half-way done.
Here's a list of the current construction projects on the PD&C website: http://www.smu.edu/BusinessFinance/PDC/ ... onProjects - saying Harold Simmons Hall construction is scheduled to get underway this summer and be done by summer 2015.

Interesting "Master Plan" for 1997-2015.
No IPF, but the fraternity houses are gone.
I too have heard that all the fraternity houses on SMU Blvd will eventually relocate- any idea where to? Also, what will go in their place on SMU Blvd?

Seems like such a waste to make more admin space. We already more than doubled admin space when Blanton was built. Do we really need more? If so wouldn't a highrise across 75 be better?

Leave the frat houses. Ad bldgs would take away the student presence --- would look too sterile. We've already got a couple of 10 story office buildings across Central. So called East Campus.couch 'em wrote:Seems like such a waste to make more admin space. We already more than doubled admin space when Blanton was built. Do we really need more?
