Hey hey hey, don't distort it. I do have a bunch of respect for that team as a team. I thought they'd make the tourney before the season started last year. And I'm aware of their history in the 90s, just simply saying that most don't think of them as a "name" team. If they went to Duke at Cameron, it wouldn't have quite the same hype if Gonzaga or Michigan played at Cameron. But yes, I have a lot of respect for Arkansas, certainly not trying to downplay that team, plus I do get a sense that there is a bit of a rivalry there, I assume from the old days.

Definitely a rivalry. Arkansas refers to Dallas as Barnhill South (Barnhill being their old arena. I am not sure how old you are) I would rank Arkansas right up there with Michigan but above Gonzaga in overall history. Certainly not at a Duke or Kentucky level.
And I am talking about the past 30 years, not the past 10. Gonzaga has been a much better program than Arkie in the 2000s.

Yeah I agree with that. Arkansas was good when Richardson was patrolling the sidelines. Corliss was a hell of a player. I guess I'm going with the hype that is today. I'd assume people would be more excited to shell out big cash for Gonzaga as opposed to Arkansas, but I just lost my virginity in the past couple years to the SMU fan base so I'm still learning the nuances and who the bigger games are.

Without s doubt more would pay for Gonzaga than Ark today. I think Anderson will get them back though. A year ago with Arkansas coming to old Moody it would have been a sellout. Only difference is that it would have been 2000 SMU vs. 6000 Arkansas.

Eddie Sutton's Arkansas teams in the 70's and 80's were pretty darn good too. Moncrief, Brewer and Delph, the "triplets" all from Arkansas lead them to Final Four in 1978. What a team!
9 straight NCAA appearances, 4 times made it to 3rd round or better.
Beat the hell out of anybody!

70s is beyond my time...lol, but I did know they made a couple final fours. They've had a long history, they've been good in stretches, even back in the WWII era

That was my original point when I was saying "name" schools. I'd venture to guess you'd pay more for Michigan and Indiana as well, probably NC State too, at least I would. Main point, the schedule is really unbalanced, this year sucks, next year could potentially be great in the OOC.

Smart schedule for ticket sales. They are raising prices this year but allowing no increase for Mustang Club donation for previous season ticket holders. With next year's schedule they will be able to justify raising everything again to a level that they want from everyone. I cringe to think of the prices next year.

Wyoming and Arkansas are "name" opponents? Just think, Gonzaga, NC State, Indiana, Michigan...then Arkansas and Wyoming....hmmm
OBF....yes, Arkansas is a name opponent. To me they are more than Michigan and Indiana. Goes back to the SWC. It will be a pleasure to beat the little piggies.

Anybody who has ever been in Moody or Reunion and suffered through a boisterous pro-Arkansas crowd calling the pigs will always consider Arkansas a big game.

Now I'm not picking on you guys but I was in Dallas the week of the Temple/Cincy game when you guys got about an inch of snow. I'm pretty sure ya'll will be terrified to drive up here in a foot of snow. If you drive like grandma you'll get run over. And yes it will be cold.
They also have the equipment to clear the roads up in Michigan. . . Texas, not so much
You'd think the city would be better about quickly clearing the streets, but that is most certainly not the case. Driving / moving around in Ann Arbor is absolutely miserable.

That's cause Ann Arbor is a dump jk, it's a cool town. Last year I was up there for the Northwestern game that was basically just short of a blizzard. That was terrible the roads were awful, thank god the game ended before the real storm hit. Probably got a foot dump from that one.

When the SWC tournament was played at Reunion, the famous Barnhill South sign would appear because basically 14,000 of the 16,000 were Arkansas fans. They made that tournament a lot of fun.
