Is this the year for a midnight madness?I know this was discussed last year and I agreed we weren't there yet, but it seems now is the perfect time to start the tradition - the preseason hype/ranking, the chance to welcome Eman to the SMU family and gave SMU fans/students a preview of the 2014-15 Mustangs. I honestly believe we would fill Moody. Also, It'd be a good chance for the department to make money - concessions (I assume beer would be allowed at this type of event?), special/new merch (I hope we take a big step up in the SMU basketball merch available this season) and offer the few if any remaining season tickets available for sale. I don't see the downside.

Re: Is this the year for a midnight madness?Yes. I have no doubt that place would sell out just to see EMAN alone. Top 15 preseason team. Most momentum we have ever had. Most excitement we have ever had. A rocking arena that can finally have special effects/lights/smoke, etc. Lets do it.
I also want to see Jean-Michael Mudiay throw down some dunks. **Great recruiting tool as well.
Re: Is this the year for a midnight madness?Agreed- great idea.

Re: Is this the year for a midnight madness? After seeing the enthusiasm last season, I can't imagine SMU wouldn't do something for the first practice this year.

Make it it free to the public. I believe the other schools that do that make it free to the public. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

I emailed Rick Hart last year on the having a midnight madness and he was against it but now with the success of SMU and EMan coming here maybe he will have a change of heart (no pun intended).
