Btw, how do we know that TCU didnt duck us this year because of what they have coming back versus what we have coming back?

Dumbest. Opinion. Ever.

Tcu is one of our only relevant matchups in football now. Yea lets get rid of them. That'd really show them!

Sounds to me like TCU is ducking us this season because they know of the ass-whipping they'd catch

Gosh, you can be dense sometimes.

Let's play Louisiana Tech or New Mexico State instead and have 10,000 fans at Ford

Don't know if anyone had mentioned it, but it looks like our series with NCState didn't happen either.

My god. I took a position that no one agrees with. Sue me. Now, you know SMU isn't going to kill this series. I know I'm probably 1 of 3 people who feel this way. But that's what I think. And if you can't accept opinion, OK.

TCU had a unique season-much like SMU when Brown first came-about 5 of their best players were on the sidelines at the end of the bench because they were in transfer year or injured. I'm not saying they will be great but they should be vastly improved.

Heck, 1 conference win would be a vast improvement for them!

"We always want our team to play as many high-quality opponents as possible," says head coach Larry Brown. "Our non-conference and conference schedule will give us a chance to play great teams in great environments at home and on the road. There are a lot of incredible opportunities in front of us."

But according to some people, it's only a slight upgrade because we're playing 2 schmos from the Big 10 who are barely worthy of us gracing their building. And then couple the lack of non 150-200 SOS/RPI/KENTOP teams that apparently aren't on the schedule so basically that means this schedule is brutal and SMU screwed up.

Nice going, Larry and staff. You should have consulted with the gang of 30 before you did anything with your OOC schedule. Didn't you know that they knew better than you?

our schedule is a HUGE upgrade and the best one we have had in recent memory. Zaga will be top 15-20, Michigan is extremely relevant right now, even with the guys they lost, and Indiana is Indiana. Put those games on the road and that's a heck of schedule in itself. These are brand name teams that give you credit even when they are struggling.

Also, we are a part of the tip off marathon. This is HUGE for SMU

Re: my previous post regarding Mich/Indy: I just wanted to note that while we usually consider these teams to be powerhouses, they won't be as good as we originally believed. I think it's awesome that we get to play in Assembly Hall, one of the most revered (albeit in dire need of a spruce up) arenas in CBB.

Obviously, this schedule is a marked improvement over last year's OOC.

Huge, indeed. And the key word in the quote from that press release is OPPORTUNITY. We need to win 2 of the 3 (of course all three would be nice) of those road games for it ultimately to matter. If we lay eggs (I don't think we will), won't matter much who the hell we play. Just win, baby!!

Again, and I won't say it anymore, it wasn't the schedule that gave ammo to those who didn't vote us into the tourney. It was the LOSSES (win those 3 against USF, Temple, and Houston and we're in . . . DEFINITELY if we beat UVA of course).

Anyway, Pony Up!!

I'm just saying your opinion is moronic. Let's kill one of the 2 or 3 nationally relevant games our football team plays each year, that we're able to sell out at home? Yeah, that makes sense. Who would you replace them with? Are SEC and B1G teams lining up to play at Ford after this year? Who are they?

There's actually a $40M renovation planned for Assembly Hall- not sure how much (if any) will be completed before this season, though.

Well, we could say we weren't going to play TCU because we weren't going to help them anymore.

This is probably a 1-year blip with them anyway because of the scheduling. I know after the 2005 win in football, we didn't play them in 2006.
