I prefer to view it as misstating other people's opinions so you can feel like you are winning the debate.
Re: Official OOC Schedule
Stupidest comment ever.
Re: Official OOC Scheduleapparently, the tide has turned at least twice in a 13 year olds lifetime I guess Derail the Frogs!
Re: Official OOC ScheduleIt was supposed to be dumb. This is the bball board. This is a happy place
Re: Official OOC Schedule
I don't look at it as winning because I know I'm right and they're wrong.
Re: Official OOC Schedule
You sure about that-SMU hasn't beaten Tech, Baylor or A&M in close to 30 years. Haven't played UT. "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Official OOC Schedule
That would be a much bigger deal if we weren't a hoops school.
Re: Official OOC Schedule
Bingo! This is the happy board. Go sell crazy and negativity on the football board! This is my Disneyland. Don't spoil it. Please.
Re: Official OOC ScheduleFWIW, I think it's a great OOC schedule in my opinion. @Zaga, @IU, @Michigan are going to be viewed extremely favorably by the selection committee. UM and IU, I have no idea how their young guys are going to plug in. Both schools will start at least one incoming freshman, maybe more, plus multiple starting spots are up in the air for both with no apparent guys to step into those positions. They will be good teams, neither great, but they're on the road in difficult environments, tougher than 99% of SMU's road games of the past 5 years. Playing at Gonzaga is also a b*tch.
On the flip side, from a season ticket holder perspective I think the home schedule is a brutal disappointment. Lose Louisville and only one decent OOC home game worth going to really. And what happened to NC State? (that's a side note in this picture) As for the people ripping Lamar and Eastern Washington, you obviously have no idea what is trying to be accomplished when building a schedule and a championship caliber team. Lamar is the home opener, supposed to be a snoozer that the team can get minutes, comfortable, and a win. Then they're on the road for two, followed by another easy win (E. Washington) to build confidence back up knowing that it's a very real possibility that you come home from Spokane and Bloomington with back-to-back losses right out of the gate as a top 10 team.
Re: Official OOC ScheduleHas anyone run the numbers on how the entire schedule rates as a whole compared to last year with the loss of the 2 Louisville games

Re: Official OOC Schedule
I'm guessing it will be a wash -- OOC is better, but not hugely better; L-ville loss hurts in conf, but partially offset by Tulsa and a Temple that's back to historic standards. Don't think it will matter tournament time assuming (A) no losses to bottom-of-conf teams and (B) no first round exit in the conf tourney.
Re: Official OOC ScheduleI'll be disappointed if we're anything lower than a 4 seed in the tourney
