Completely disagree. USA was all heart but no talent or discipline..

BBC chastised England for not playing with the heart that USA has.

We played a guy who doesn't even start in the MLS.

Any other European country's league second team guys wouldn't start for their country. Yet we knocked out Ghana and Portugal, and played closer than any against Belgium, who is the most talented squad on the group.

Tim Howard looked great, Yedlin and Green are promising young talents, and we won't lose much in the next 4 years. Russia 2018 will be a great stage for us.

Yep- as the tiki-god would say- we are only 1 1/2 recruiting classes away. :roll:

I said before the start of the cup that I expected Germany, Arg. or Brazil to win it. I still think that will happen although none of those teams have been overly impressive so far.

I expected lots more crisp passing, Beckerman/Bradley holding the ball, and tons more attacking from Bradley, similar to what we saw late in qualifying and pre-WC. I saw tons of bad passes and stupid midfield give-always that looked very much like previous cups. Our individual talent is getting better, our roster deeper, but the poor fundamentals and passive attacking attitude was the complete opposite of what Klinnsman said we'd see. I like him but our skills buckled with pressure and only our hearts kept us in it. Altidore is just not THAT good a striker to totally discombobulate our game plan. Troubling.

Altidore is not THAT good a striker, but there was no one on the roster that had his skill set. That's why the game plan changed.

Altidore is not THAT good a striker, but there was no one on the roster that had his skill set. That's why the game plan changed.

Ha. I don't think I have missed 5 minutes of the entire cup. Recorded all of the games and watched the dvr so I could ffwd the ads. Here every game was televised.

I find the continued Europeanization of the United States interesting. The increased interest in soccer is but further evidence of that.
