Cancellation Rumors

Postby me@smu » Wed Sep 21, 2005 2:18 pm

Anyone know if there is any truth to the rumor that the game/tailgating saturday will be cancelled due to Hurricane Rita?

There's talk of moving the game time to an earlier time according to the DMN but not anything about cancelling.

If it's moved, I hope it's not that early... I liek the night games, much more comfortable for the fans... obviously avoiding torential downpour would, however, be a good idea.

Chances are, it would be cloudy and cooler than normal and with a breeze. :(
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I don't know if anyone's seen the projection map lateley, but it shows the eye of Rita sitting right on top of the metroplex at 1PM on Sunday.

Yeah the projection paths seem to be varied on where it hits the coast but all seem to end up with Rita over DFW by sunday...this should be fun

the issue though is Saturday-the tracks I've seen would mean strong winds and rains for Saturday afternoon. Hardly anybody except for the morons on this board would put up with that. Move it to Friday and then watch football on TV all day Saturday while staying dry.

All things considered, Friday night would be better than playing in a driving rain storm on Sat afternoon. If the weather on Sat afternoon turns out ok, I guess just as many people would miss Sat afternoon watching other colleges and their kids soccer games as would miss the game on Friday due to Friday Night Lights.

I would hate for a recruit who has a visit scheduled for Sat. to miss out on seeing the game b/c it was moved to Fri. Besides, my high school homecoming game is Fri. and I just can't miss it

Hopefully someone will just make a decision so those of us outside of Dallas can either cancel or change our plans.
