"Larry Brown somehow beat Kentucky and Kansas for the strong, athletic and talented point guard, whose greatest asset is his ability to get into the paint and finish,†Goodman wrote. “He’s still a work in progress in terms of running a team, but his upside is tremendous.â€
Mudiay was ranked as a five-star prospect and the No. 1 point guard in the country. A McDonald’s All-American, Mudiay was dominant at Prime Prep, where he averaged 16 points, six rebounds and four assists per as a senior.
Having Mudiay and returning starting point guard Nic Moore will give SMU one of the most dangerous backcourts in the country. Moore is coming off a sensational season and should see more time at the two with Mudiay now on the roster.
Mudiay is expected to join SMU in August.
