Let's face it--we are doomed to another failed year of recruiting.

Now for the unmitigated truth: the only time we were ever attractive to quality recruits in the modern era, in either football or men's basketball, was when we were paying players. That also gave us winning teams. Short of a return to illegal payments, we shall suck forever in all so-called revenue sports.

It's easy now that I no longer care near as much about SMU sports as I used to. What you confuse for despair is mere observation.

Think outside the box. SMU soccer babes bikini calendar--all proceeds to the general athletic fund. Could do it for all the women's sports teams, assuming the talent is there. Probably not so good for women's field participants.
