Re: Luncheon Roll Call
Is this the least excitement and anticipation for an opening game since 2007? 2008 wasn't a great season. But there was at least a lot of interest in the new coach. And obviously 2009 and beyond season openers were exciting.

Is Mex buying tables for all of us? Or would he do that to keep the anti-June crowd out of the building?

Easily the least interest in a while. I didn't even know it was today.
Re: Luncheon Roll Call
In the past it was always on Wednesday.

Mustang Club has sent an email in prior years as a reminder. Likewise I didn't know either that it was today. Any reports from those that did know about it and attended??

Re: Luncheon Roll Call
It was packed... I got several emails for the event, so you might want to make sure they got the right email address? They may have sold out a little early this year and stopped emailing out the ticket offers...
I thought it was a pretty good event, same stuff as usual. Had the pleasure of sitting next to Greenbaur's parents and had Beau, Epley, and Durral at my table.

Re: Luncheon Roll Call
Greg Gardner of the Gardner Group sponsored the event and Moose was great. I hope the talk pumped up the team... It sure did me. I talked to Mason a bunch and met the Serbian guy. He is freaking HUGE. Very well spoken nice guy. Tight End I think.
June is a hard guy to hate and he does come across as for the kids... growing as players and men.
Place was packed but no wild ovation when the idea of beating Baylor came up a few times.
Expectations are not so high.
Meal... the worst chicken enchilada and bland beans and rice. Heck the guac was bland too.

He's not a TE-he's playing OT right. It would be pretty tough to teach a kid to play football much less TE in a couple of weeks

Re: Luncheon Roll Call
I thought the Moose speech was good! Well, great for the first part and then he rambled between topics a little but I thought the part about building a team and hard work was a great message for the players.
And Bus, totally agree. Meal was the worst yet at these events. The desert was okay, but that was about it.
General consensus I think is that there is a lot of talent on the team, but the tough start and inexperience are putting expectations low, with high expectations for next season.
