Re: US News Rankings
Do this year's rankings use the stats from the entering class of 2013 or 2014? Dean Niemi told us yesterday that SMU's SAT average went up again to 1309 in 2014. The 120 direct admits to Cox have an SAT average of around 1475.

Re: US News Rankings
It will be 2013 data. But Sam eye for everyone so should be good direction for us.
Of course everyone is paddling hard to improve so it is VERY hard to up. If we get even one spot higher it will be good.

Unless, of course, you are this university which went from #162 to #49 in 17 years. Their endowment was $616,618 in the 2013 NACUBO report.

Re: US News Rankings
Increase international applicants and Lyle School enrollment and rankings will improve a bit.

Re: US News Rankings
That's what USC has done & their acceptance rate dropped to between 17 & 20%.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

The Pac-12 as a whole has been targeting China. There was an article, I can't seem to find, about how all of the universities want to target Chinese students, written during all of the conference realignment hoopla. For state schools they are a financial life saver as they pay full tuition. SMU has an admission page in Chinese and Spanish. I wonder how much more attractive SMU is to international students with the new residential model.
Re: US News Rankings
Someone needs to start targeting Africa. That's where all the growth is.

Re: US News Rankings
You are correct, 'Punch.
My contact at SC say they have a recruiter strictly for China. They pay full-board & they're almost 50% of the school's total enrollment - if not more. Their medical campus is over 50%.
University of Iowa also gets the full tuition all four years in advance from Chinese students.
Since we don't have a football team to attract US students, perhaps we should market our school to the Asians to help our acceptance rates? LOL!!!

Re: US News Rankings
going chinese is not worth it. THey don't participate in any university life, and they don't give back after they graduate. There is a reason all the California kids are coming to Texas - and one of the reasons is that the chinese are ruining the west coast schools.

Re: US News Rankings
That is the flip side of the coin. You are correct.
Especially the part about not giving back.
Guess it comes down to how bad SMU really wants the cash & how much they want to lower those acceptance rates.

Re: US News Rankings
If I'm reading this right, #60 again. As much movement as we see in June's offense...

You're looking at last year's ranking. Check back tomorrow when the 2015 ranking comes out.
June could only hope for as much "movement" on offense as he had last year -- which isn't saying much.
