I think this would be an awesome hire after the job he did at Eastern Illinois. I am sure leaving Bowling Green and coming to Dallas would be a no brainer for Dino. He was on my list right after Mark Hudspeth. Both have HC experience and Babers and staff are familiar with recruiting Texas.

Dan Hawkins just said he was interested in the job on Sirius 91.

He had a remarkable record at Boise St, but I am inclined to believe that was mostly due to Chris Petersen.

I don't know a thing about him, but I thought it was interesting when Pacman asked him about the SMU job, and he said he was very interested. I imagine there must be others who are also very interested.

Has anyone asked not been interested? I am shocked by all of the positive interest. Esp after Chad Morris stories.

Get me the guy whose high powered offense beats Ohio State in the Orange Bowl and puts 576 yards on them and almost 200 of them on the ground.

Re: OFFICIAL: NEW COACHING THREAD
Ok, I'm not really a Mack Brown fans, but what about a Mack Brown type package. For example, what if Mack Brown was contingent on Applewhite, Ricky Williams, Vince Young as coordinators etc ?.... Bring in the youth/college stars to recruit and Mack to seal the deal if need be......Even if you guys hate Mack (which I kind of do), I think packages could be what a school like SMU needs. It's hard for one guy to recruit 24 guys per year....and if you send a nobody coordinator from weak school, your chances to land the recruit are slim...
