Norm has no idea if the door is shut!
Norm can be a real blow hard sometimes.
It is about your program S so thank God for basketball and soccer and other good athletic programs. Fix Football quickly by loosening the death grip on entrance requirements and we would be back in a jiffy.

There will come a time when the bottom feeders of the P5 conferences will be viewed as a liability - strength of schedule, market location, etc. (think Iowa State?) - and pull the P5 to the Bottom of the P5's and they will look to replace with a more attractive school - that will open doors.

I don't get why people keep talking about this. People like ED.

Maybe the same in entrance requirements.
But not in the courses offered.
Many others offer "basket weaving" type degrees or courses we dont.
And we are not the same in that others have
bigger, better "learning enhancement centers" to help the student athletes along.
So we are not on the same playing field.....yet.

Plus what football players failed out of SMU that prevented June from winning? Nobody has ever shown our academic casualty rate to be any different from anyone else.

Ok couch 'em...I have just heard that most other schools have easier
degree plans than SMU.....maybe someone with more specific knowledge can comment.
Does SMU offer a degree in PE like TCU does?

You have no idea what you're talking about. There is a MAJOR emphasis put on football. No one gives a crap about soccer, swimming and girls bouncing around on horses. SMU has next to zero of a fanbase in a major market, can't fill 1/3 of their stadium with THEIR supporters on saturdays, and no one wants to touch us. Why would they? Everyone is stealing players from our backyard and they would never want us in a major conference because they would have to cut-off the main artery of recruiting. They would be idiots to add us.. WHAT CAN WE BRING?
I keep hearing that "We have lots of money" - no one cares because our coaches (outside of LB) have been bad investments since 1989.
It's too late - the bus has left. We'll be Gonzaga or UNC-Greensboro of the South and I'm fine with that at this point.
Face it - it's done.
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
