OK, I am done being critical. The worst of our problems has been extricated from the building.
I have ultimate faith in our fearless leader. We finally have a true athletic director. And, his hands were tied by the coach he inherited.
So be patient and know he's working on football -- and has been working on football. I am confident he will find us a leader, a true program builder.
Pay no attention to the results this season. They don't mean anything. Infrastructure, putting a spit-shine on the gameday presentation and the facility is more meaningful.
I agree with Rick. Be positive. We have a lot to sell a new coach. To some degree, June proved it can be done. The next guy has to do it -- and keep it sustainable.

I think Hart has done a really good job so far. Of course, it brings to mind the fact that 70% of PFs were castigating him as nothing more than a spineless Turner yes-man before he had even been on the job for a week. So far, they've been proven dead wrong IMO.

Re: In support of Rick Hart
I support Hart for two reasons.
First, after JJ's departure, he has recognized the importance of directly engaging SMU fans with reasonable transparency given the dynamics. I would encourage him to increase his outreach and seek input from a broad range of SMU supporters and national CFB leaders.
Second, the alternative to supporting him would not be good for the process or us. If we begin second guessing him too quickly and express major doubts or objections, we could look toxic.
So, let's help build on our initial optimism and generate enthusiasm for our program and the right candidate, who will feel our committment and see our great upside.

Hard for me to get by his patronizing and dismissive response to those wanting an indoor practice facility. Think that if you are going to go after Texas recruits you can't expect them to take a step back in terms of facilities when they get to college. Would add that a key to building up SMU basketball was developing a practice facility that is good enough for the Mavs. To me this is part of the equation of whether we make a serious run in football.
