I have not seen it mentioned yet on this or any other post. I am 99.99% sure I saw C- James on the sidelines Sat during pre-game warm-ups .... am I wrong? Also, heard from a COC months ago that JJ was working hard to get out of the Baylor game (did not not want to start with them), but NO one was budging.

2. I asked about Eric's rant. He said Eric is very emotional especially since he and June are close friends. But he knows Eric realizes what June did to the program.
3. I asked about coaches and he said no formal list at this time. He said whomever it is will likely have strong ties in Texas. He mentioned that Phil Bennett & his brother were very good in this area.
4. He said we should have let him go 3 years ago after the AZ st deal.
5. I asked why they extended his contract and he just rolled his eyes and should his head. Didn't say a word.

If I can think of anything else I will post it later I have meetings now.

James the preacher....classic. Politics and preaching didn't work so well so let's just try the preaching thing.

If I were Hart I'd keep Dickerson and James way out of the loop here. Give them their sideline passes and a smile and that's it.

Why?

You take some of our most powerful marketing pieces and table them? Don't have a marketing degree or a history book do you?

It was Dickerson that brought the restoration and 4 bowls you enjoyed, both times!

Let us keep you out of it.

He may have been but I didn't see him on the sideline or upstairs. The TV announcers said that James had talked to the Board of Trustees and that they assured him that they were behind big time football. I don't know anything about CJ attending a trustees meeting but maybe he did. Perhaps he talked to some of the 42 members? Which ones? Who knows, but the announcer reported that the Board was behind football.

Personally, I think that he and ED should be honored for all that they did for SMU along with many other Letterman who all need to feel included and kept up to date on what is going on. So many of these guys are prominent people now and they should be nurtured as good will ambassadors for the program. Should CJ or ED be on a selection committe of some sort? It wouldn't bother me. I am not interested in either of their politics or religious beliefs.

Maybe politics didnt work out but dont see why being part of the faith would be bad for him. God bless him.

If i were Hart, I get anybody who has any history with the program and that somebody we would actually know. I think having ED and CJ along with our mustangs in the nfl would be great PR to show that we still make talent here.

Sure, let Dickerson rip the program up and down and then welcome him back with open arms as the face of SMU? Stop kissing this guys *ss already. The future success of the program will not be affected one bit if he falls off the face of the earth.

God Bless

No way on the sideline passes for Dickerson, not after he ripped the school like that. He can afford to buy a ticket.

Yes, CJ was on the sideline Saturday before the game.

So genius Dickerson is ripping smu in every media outlet in the country?

That exaggeration is as ridiculous as your knowledge of this program.

You are the same guy singing his praises when he got June here. You are the same guy loving the bowls. It was the guys friend, he was frustrated lost his cool. Kind of like you are in here right now. Maybe we should judge you completely on the complete inaccurate description of what you say Dickerson did/is doing?

Grow up!

Dickerson is a friend of this school not an enemy.

Different story if he tried to quit right after last season, of course.

I doubt he tried to quit after last season. Remember, he signed the contract extension.

Rumor outside James has said he wanted to retire then as well.

Thus far checks have not been an issue for athletics.

He says June wanted to quit before game one and they (smu) talked him into staying. Long story short he was done coaching at this time and wanted out. He also said we should have made a change 3 years ago when he burnt everyone in the Arizona state thing. It ruined his relationships with the fan base.

I had heard a similar story that he went in on Monday after Baylor to quit and was talked out of it. They wanted him to coach the UNT game and then go on that Monday after. That way, they would have 2 weeks of work with an interim and any "consultants" they could get in here to change some things.

With friends like Dickerson who needs enemies!

Exaggeration? Pull your head out of the sand. The entire week after June got canned your buddy Dickerson and his quotes were prominently displayed from local blogs to ESPN.

You certainly have no idea who I am because I was no where around when Dickerson got June here. Honestly I could care less about Dickerson or June or any of the old worthless, lazy regime (outside of Mason). Thank god SMU finally wised up and canned his butt so the program actually has a positive outlook for the future.

These kids deserve much better than the half *ss effort of June and his cronies, and the downright incompetence and hubris of way too many of his staff.

Stop trying to make excuses for these guys. Everybody is finally realizing the truth and you just look stupid trying to protect them.

I basically agree with half of this. Theres no possible or rational statement for keeping JJ here. I think we all (99.9%) agree that JJ should have been canned back after the ASU debacle, which I was a huge proponent for because it tells the rest of the world you are fine with quitters. However, I think its an immature move (regardless of what others do) to remove your historic background: Pony Express (ED and CJ) and any other honorable mentions. Its good to point to people who have made a successfull career for themselves. Heck, I dont want just ED and CJ, get all the Mustangs that are in the NFL right now and have them up for display. Show that success can happen even in our greatest and lowest (excluding this season) of times.
