Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campuswe are going to need a big man or two next year; I read today that Clemson is now jumping in on Blackshear
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campusHopefully we will continue to be a good transfer choice.
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campusTolbert is damn good good big who will ready to step in 2015.

Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
Tolbert is merely a one years stop gap. We need some talent for continuity.
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
Agreed.
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campusYes sir. Where exactly do we sit on his list?
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
Whose list?
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campusLet's get both of these dudes! - hopefully they enjoyed it
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
Blackshear
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
Kind of like many of the stud players are one year stop gaps. I'm not saying Tolbert will be a stud, but he will be a very good, mature big for us next year. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
No doubt, but need to recruit some long-term answers. Need to sustain the success, without recruiting some long-term options, there will be a monster drop-off when Nic and Markus/some of the others are gone in the next two years. 2015 really needs to be home-run in recruiting in order to ensure the team stays around the top 25, just reality imo.
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campusIf you add Emelogu to our 2013 class with B Moore, Sterling and Keith that is a damn good class...maybe a bit of a logjam at SG but still a lot of talent. They each have three more years. I'm not saying we don't need to continue to bring in talent but I've got confidence in the staff that they will. There's no doubt we need a couple of three or four year bigs moving forward.

Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
I don't see that at all. We've become top 20 in 2 years w/o having a monster frosh class. Keep doing what we've been doing and all will be fine. Mix in transfers, jucos, high school kids, 5th year kids etc. Class spacing doesn't mean anything anymore in todays game, just have 9 really good players.
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campus
You can't just keep putting bandaids over things. At some point, there's gotta be some sustainability...I disagree respectfully, there's going to be a year where the transfer isn't there to be had. That's my personal opinion, I just have a difference in philosophy. Transfers patch things and buy another year or two. Ohio State is going to be in trouble this year because Amir Williams is the only big that is on roster that was recruited out of high school. There's no second big to run alongside him and he sucks, there's no depth.
Re: Gilder and Blackshear on campusMaybe not the best way to win National Championships but I've always liked the route where you sprinkle in Division 1A Transfers and JUCO transfers because with only 13 scholarships you get more experienced, mature upperclassmen who are ready to contribute rather than 4-5 18 year old freshmen sitting on the bench. I really think this has been proven over and over again for most programs. Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina fans I'm sure may dispute but how many schools can really get that Gold Chip talent
