Texas Instruments Inc. CEO Richard Templeton and his wife, Mary, have donated $2 million to Southern Methodist University in Dallas to fund a new faculty position in electrical engineering.
SMU said it already has started a search to fill the Mary and Richard Templeton Centennial Chair of Electrical Engineering. The Templeton’s gift will provide a $1.5 million endowment to SMU’s Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering and $500,000 in operational support.
