McFarlin

Post by LA_Mustang »

What renovations were done? I hope they didn't change the old school feel to the place.

Nothing to the seats, floor, stage, etc..... yet. Most of it was acoustic and cosmetic with a little structural and lighting thrown in. Workers found some original ornamental stuff that had been covered up in a 60s renovation. Will be restored. (hopefully they won't take out the air conditioning and re-install the windows) The floor level - seating, flooring, etc. - will get a turn later on.

Interesting.

As long as they keep the character. That is a great auditorium.

It would be nice to compile a list of all the bands and speakers that have adourned the stage in McFarlin. I know I have personally seen Jerry Jeff Walker there as well as George Clinton and the P Funk Band. Oh yea, and the great Lionel Hampton. Probably some others that I can not recall at the moment.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I love that place. Along with the Majestic, McFarlin is favorite old school auditorium/theater in Dallas.

They did a horrendous job with that. I'm shocked since they seem to do such a great job with everything else construction related. It's awful.
