devil's advocate

Postby vielsiehorsepower » Sat Sep 27, 2014 11:50 am

Is it a possibility that the staff was right about a lot of the ditr recruiting but the talent has just been poorly developed? Because the team has looked more competent each week and is a far way from the Baylor train wreck. Maybe the cupboard won't be quite as bare for the next coach as we have thought. Not to say that major overhaul is not needed however

Big 12, are you kidding? I have no idea what game you're watching.

We are severely lacking in comparative talent.

He might be right...

Given the first three games, this is the most poorly coached team I have ever seen. Don't get me wrong, we are short of talent as well. I just wonder what some of these kids could do, if they knew what to do.

a certain number of kids will be talented enough and work hard enough to stick around for 4-5 years. You can only hope several of them are contributing by their 4th and 5th years. Otherwise, we are going to see a lot of guys recruited over...hopefully

No doubt these guys look unprepared but the difference in talent is glaring.

We are smaller and a step slower at almost every position on the field.

That's exactly what I am saying. Like maybe for instance if they had been coached like they have been the past week since offseason things wouldn't be this bad..these aren't players that are going to take this team to the next.level, but maybe a bowl would be a possibility if they weren't kicked in the teeth the second they got on campus.

And la, I'm basing that off of picking up first downs, giving qb time in the pocket, making stops on d etc. All things that have gradually improved each week..not saying they're good, just maybe they didn't have to be this awful to start

All I said was that better coaching would have mad e a significant difference, even with these players. Not that talent didn't need an upgrade

You cannot coach a player to 10.1 speed.
