Never understood why our "fans" continue perpetuating this stupid internet joke. its immature, it was never particularly funny to begin with, and it's making fun of one of the top five players to ever wear an SMU uniform.

Let's leave this kind of drivel for the TCU/UNT trash and the fairies that write for Deadspin.

I, also, am Craig James' age, played against him in high school and met him a time or two. I always resented him taking my rightful place in the SMU backfield (or was it Dickerson? I forget). Just as an aside, I was more impressed with Mike Luck who was a fantastic HS halfback at Spring Branch HS and played at UT, but that's old history.

CJ is not a bad guy, he can be pretty obvious about his tactics sometimes, but, overall, not a bad guy.

That all said, the real story here is that SMU people talked Tiki Head into staying as head football coach. That is just about unforgivable.

Convincing him to stay until we hit the bye week to give Mason some breathing room before the ATM steamroller comes to town actually makes some sense. I can understand that mindset, plus I don't think anyone could have predicted that a team coached by even a checked out JJ would lay such a massive turd in Denton.

maybe they laid such a turd in Denton because he checked out in Waco

That game should forever be remembered as "The Turd in Denton".

Exactly! Although we all know he checked out way before Waco.

I second that. And before anyone jumps on me and 07 saying that is classless, let me point some thing out: whether it was malicious sabotage or just plain laziness on his part, June still took a check for 2million a year and went on teaching a whole team (and his son) about being a good man with honor and how to grow into the men they ought to be. That kind of two faced [deleted] baggery is why I can't stand jones. If he sucked as a coach that'd be one thing..however he has proven he can do better and when I see him smugly laughing his way to the bank and making excuses for his inept teams, I see the man I never want to be. I see a liar,a crook,a diva, an arrogant bastard, a manipulator, and a lazy sack of [deleted].

Sure, I'm not saying it in the most respectful way but there's evidence that to support each name I called him by. And you may retort “oh, but all the former players spoke so highly of him and he helps disabled children."

Yeah, those things are probably very true. That's why his betrayal to smu is just that much more disgusting...and this is coming from a guy who admired Jones so much years ago and had dreams to walk on and play for the man

OK, Craig James has zero credibility in my book. He bailed on SMU years ago when he sent his little whiney no-talent son to Texas Tech (and got Mike Leach fired). Who gives a rats about James and his "advice "? Surely June knew that the cupboard was bare at the end of last season, but how come people aren't calling for Rick Hart's head? That guy was really asleep at the switch!

We did not offer his son and his son wanted to play baseball also and we do not have a baseball team. What should he have told his son to do?

Hart wasn't allowed to get rid of him because the CoC loves June. The school didn't want to come up with the money to buy him out and then pay whatever was needed to pay the next guy. We got June because Orsini talked 20 guys into ponying up $100k per year to cover his salary. Without that, we would have gotten Joey Bag O'Donuts 7 years ago.
