Biggest Choke Job Ever?

Postby DanFreibergerForHeisman » Sun Oct 02, 2005 8:58 pm

How in the world can you blow a 10 point lead with 5 minutes left?

To not even try to get in FG range at the end of regulation is inexcusible.

I'm surprised we don't have a new coach today.

If you are surprised that we don't have a new coach today then you must be following a different program. SMU doesn't do things like that. We can give you all the excuses you want but if it's action you desire you are in the wrong place my friend.

Hard to believe Parcells hung on after the Cowboys lost to the Redskins, too, huh?

First, the defense was gassed in the fourth quarter. It is no wonder that the other team made up ground at that point.

Second, we stopped them on the fumble that was called an incomplete pass.

Third, we tried to get into field goal range right after the touchdown and Romo overthrew Pellerin down the sideline. We took a knee with 19 seconds left when we had to go 60 yards in 19 seconds to get into McMurtry's range with one time out. We didn't exactly have Jim McMahon under center or Randy Moss at wideout.

Well, of course, Parcells is not seven and thirty-something lifetime as a head coach either....

I'm not. My Nationals faded down the stretch 50-31 in the first half and 31-50 in the second half. Yuk. Now, you want to talk about chokes.
