He's right, but at this point he needs to understand his position. When you're an icon of a program your negativity is amplified. Thank God Doak can't pile on!

Well, ED is right, it is embarrassing. But:

1) It's his guy that didn't recruit. I have been vocal that JJ is a great X's and O's coach. He's a really great chef, but even the greatest chef can only do so much when he gets his groceries out of a dumpster. JJ wouldn't go shopping. That's why we're here. Not, the administration. Not academic issues. JJ did not recruit like a Division I coach (or whatever the designation is this week) and we do not have D-I talent.

2) It's not like we can change coaching staffs and players four weeks into the season. It is going to be embarrassing for awhile due to point #1, so hang on.

3) If ED has some idea to fix it faster, I'm sure we are all ears.

Otherwise, with all due respect to ED who like the rest of us would like to see a decent SMU team on the field, stating the obvious is very little help.

Very much so. Love ED but Doak Was truly exceptional when it comes to being a class act. No one better - ever in any sport.

Doak never had his good friend resign on a job (that the friend complained to him how bad the administration was) that he got him. So we don't know how he would react.
