Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)(include up to 5 candidates that you'd like to see SMU interview)
1. Chad Morris 2. Philip Montgomery 3. Lincoln Riley 4. Mack Brown 5. Mark Hudspeth (stock falling) Jake Spivatal (stock rising) "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)good list if you take off mack. I put him with the charlie weis, brady hoke, and jim tressel types. They might be ok coaches but not for us.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)Jake is becoming more appealing to me, partly because he strikes me as a bit of a bad [deleted], which I think our fan base could use. We will all need to relearn how to be fans when we gear back up, including going to the game to the end.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)I would add Beatty to the list.
Your #1 and 2 are right on! I hope we can add Beatty somewhere on staff. Last edited by LakeHighlandsPony on Sun Sep 28, 2014 5:08 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)Take off mack and Hudspeth and add spavital and heupel.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)Can we stop the Mack talk? He is enjoying golf at Crenshaw's private club and guesting on ESPN. I can't imagine at this stage of his life he would want to move and start all over. Isn't his wife a real estate whiz in Austin too.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)I am just a hillbilly from Arkansas so I am not smart enough to predict what will happen but we may want to keep our eye open for some P-5 hot seat head coaches. Just because their britches get hot at a P-5 school does not mean they could not do well in our conference. Someone like a Muschamp. I am not suggesting him because I am not sure he has shown he can handle being a head coach but I am talking about the iffiness of his position. Are there any candidates out there like that?
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)
Brady Hoke is on the hot seat at Michigan but previously had moderate success with a couple of non-power schools. Of course his tenure at Michigan has exposed some serious competency issues. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)Montgomery, he has spent his whole career, coaching and recruiting in Texas. Plus, he develops qb after qb in that scoring machine that Baylor runs. We could get him for less money than Morris.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)1. Chad Morris
2. Mack Brown 3. Jake Spivotal 4. Lincoln Riley 5. Kirby Smart Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)In no particular order: Lincoln Riley, Josh Heupel, Chad Morris, Tom Herman, and David Beaty.

Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)
OU has just as good of an offense as anyone else. And he recruits the DFW area. #HammerDown
Re: Rate the Coaching Candidates (September Edition)it wasn't exactly bad before him, he is the co-OC, not the whole OC, and has only done it for 2 years. "I think Couchem is right."
