I seldom disagree with mrydel, but we were in this game because we played to win for 3Q.

We lost becaused we played "Prevent Defense" in 4Q. And as they, "Prevent Defense" usually 'Prevents' you from winning.

We were in a zone that is true, but they weren't playing any differently than they were the first three quarters in that they were using a zone for the most part throughout the game. Our defense was a step slower at that point from exhaustion. When that fumble was called incomplete, you could see the shoulders sag and the players gingerly line up at the line. That play was a real kick in the balls to the defense.

We didn't loose the game because of a bad call. We lost the game because our offense could not move the ball and kill the clock in the 4th quarter.

I did not mean to indicate we did not play hard and that if we had won we should have declined the victory. I just meant that if the offense had performed better, we would have been in a position that even with the improper call by the official we could have won.
