Maybe Rebel10 needs to retire from VentFans Negativity shows lack of team spirit, and I bet you got fired after your company's team building classes. I wore grey pants at least one year of my football career in the mid 60s, and we won the district championship under a future AD at SFA. We have lot's of uniform looks now probably thanks to the CoC, or somebody Why so negative
May the forth be with us.

Never to the white pants with the outfits we wore yesterday. Only gray.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Agree 100%. Just bench the white pants for awhile - too blasé/old news.

Do not mess up the best helmet in football. I'd prefer to leave the white helmet alone, but if we were going to do matte, keep it white. But like I stated, better to stop messing with it (i.e. get back to the old wider stripes and stop messing with it)

My goodness, it is just an alternative helmet not the regular one so have fun and mess with it all you want.

It took us 30+ years to see this 60's alternative so let's enjoy it while we can.
Perhaps it'll be included in the 'stable' of unis we permanently keep? Hopefully & prayerfully!!!

I understand alternate uniforms. I am just saying it is a slippery slope. See Oregon.

Good point; however, as long as we stay with our 'tradition' in our retro unis along with some common sense (which appears to not be so common now days), we should be OK.
Though you are correct about Oregon, they're BIZARRE!!!!!!!!!!
