Hey Mustang Fans,

Preseason is officially over and we have begun conference play in the AAC! We wrapped up our preseason schedule with a first place finish at our final SMU Invitational tournament in Moody Coliseum. By the end of preseason, we had won three 1st place trophies to add to our trophy case. We played hard during the preseason against some of the best teams in the country. We beat two teams from the SEC conference - Georgia and Arkansas, one team from the ACC - Georgia Tech, and one team from the Big 12 - Oklahoma. We finished the preseason with an 11-1 record which we are proud of.

But all that is behind us now! This is where we get down to business as we compete in the AAC!

We opened conference play at home this past weekend with a heartbreaking loss 3-2 loss to UCF. The match was an eye opener for me and my teammates showing us that, although we were picked in the preseason to win the conference, the championship ring and a spot in the tournament at the end of the season is not going to come without an all out battle. The conference has a variety of good teams, and only the teams that consistently "bring it" week after week will have a chance to win the league. Sunday afternoon, we played the USF Bulls and decided we better bring it! We did and swept USF in 3 games which left us with our current record of 12-2.

We're excited to start a new week and focus on technical parts of our game that need improvement. We have four days to prepare for our next match, so every day and every practice is very important. We travel to Cincinnati and Memphis this coming weekend, ready to pick up two more wins on the road and make SMU proud! When we return home next Sunday, our plan is to have a 14-2 record! We will be back in action in Moody the following weekend, Friday, October 10th and Sunday, October 12th, against Houston (Dig Pink match) and Tulane.

Thank y'all for your support and see you in two weeks!
