More Beasley tweetsModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: More Beasley tweetsI much prefer the economic diversity that would result from, doubling enrollment, lowering tuition, and opening the flood gates to massive Dallas student enrollment as opposed to having students from well off families from Montana, North Dakota, or the International student...
It's not even a theory........, if SMU does this they truly become the cities' school and the day that happens it's Top 10 time.
Re: More Beasley tweetsI'm glad people on ponyfans don't make administrative decisions...
Re: More Beasley tweetsAcademic Standards? How would they been impacted? Sorry, if the tuition is reduced, the result is the applicant pool increases. SMU could still maintain its standards. But yes, doubling enrollment and not cutting tuition wouldn't work....
Re: More Beasley tweetsI won't waste the time responding to Cole's tweets. Just not worth it. Just makes us look bad. I really want to tell him to just STFU but what is the point? Just makes things worse.
Hey Cole, you and your teammates did not get the job done. Past SMU coaches were within a win or two many times to going .500 or better and that was with restrictions and a tough schedule for the most part. For SMU fan support to reach any kind of critical mass, SMU needed to win big. WE DID NOT WIN BIG. PERIOD! and yes BOP, of course our being a small school has a lot to do with the small crowds. That is always a valid point. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: More Beasley tweets
His tweets and feeble back tracking make it pretty obvious that he thinks we are all pretty stupid, even more so than himself. Beat the hell out of anybody!

Re: More Beasley tweets
There are so many problems with this theory that I honestly wouldn't know where to start and it would probably take a 5 page dissertation to cover all the potential issues. I'll leave one really big one here for you to ponder: Where are you going to put another 6,000 undergraduate students? I'm not talking about housing because I assume your model is to turn SMU into a commuter college. I'm talking about classroom space... where are the classrooms to teach another 6,000 undergraduate students going to go? Where are the offices for all the new professors going to go? You were going to hire more faculty to teach all those new students, right? (have to double the faculty to double the enrollment unless you're ok with the student to faculty ratio going from about 11:1 to about 22:1).

Re: More Beaseley tweets
It is empty when we play bad teams, it is empty when we play good teams, it is empty when we're bad, it is empty when we're good. Kudos to the diehards on this board, and all those that support the program without all of the above 'qualifiers'. But yes, our 'fans' suck. And all of those who refuse to walk from the Boulevard to the stadium really suck.
Re: More Beasley tweetsOMG you are an idiot. USC enrolls 17,414 students in its four-year undergraduate program on a 226 acre campus. SMU sits on a 237 acre campus. Google it... Obviously, any enrollment increase would be gradual but your remarks on campus size restraints exemplify the constraint mindset most on this site have...Maybe your dream comes true, we get Mack Brown and SMU continues to be garbage. Best of luck...oh and once every ten years we beat TCU. Put that in your 5 page essay...
Re: More Beasley tweets
Have you ever been on our campus? Given your instinct to respond to disagreement with insults, I'd guess you probably haven't ever been on any college campus... at least as a student.
Re: More Beasley tweets
You're a good poster 2007
Re: More Beasley tweetsWasn't insulted, I just found it funny that you all are basically making constructing/reconfiguring the campus to accommodate larger enrollment analogous to the Manhattan Project.....
Sorry, I just think the majorities path of hiring the "exciting" coach (i.e. young enthusiastic guy with Texas roots or Mack Brown) is guaranteed disaster.
Re: More Beaseley tweets
SMU has some 10,000 students. UT has 50,000. SMU averages around 16,000 for its FB, UT around 80,000. Dallas is the bigger city, but also had the Cowboys, while UT has a far superior product & conference affiliation. Yep, enrollment matters.
