My name, but not the Half Priced Books guy. That's a fictional character their head of marketing made up. I got a $50 settlement out of the deal when I called to discuss the matter.
Don't know you, just searched dcad to see how many Swayze there are in Dallas and noticed an obvious SMU house

Mrydel, I haven't read all of the post, but I don't recall anyone saying that bringing Rossley in, would "automatically equal wins", I said "could possibly help ". I'm not ready to wave the white flag and accept 0-12, and being dead last in almost every offensive category, Tom Mason isn't either.

I also think it costs about 30K to hire a search firm. Maybe he felt it best spent on a search firm. It is easy to send other peoples money.

I do not see how it could help as long as Morrison and Phillips are still there calling the plays.

I am "dumbfounded" as to how you mrydel would deny Tom Mason his request to grab a little help for our team on offense.
Look at the freaking scoreboards of our games! Ya think Mason is maybe right? in the middle of this storm should be given the benefit of doubt? and we could use some help?
We just think the poor guy in charge of this nightmare when he asks for a little help should be granted his wish and not denied by Turner and people like you that are backing Turner's decision.mrydel wrote:I do not see how it could help as long as Morrison and Phillips are still there calling the plays. I am with Mrydel. I don't see how a consultant could do any more than tell Mason to not listen to Morrison and start different players. Now, if Rossley would come in as a Coach for $30K and we could fire Morrison and replace him with Rossley, then I think it would be foolish to pass that up. But, I bet Rossley wasn't offering that.

Well let's just say that both Mason ( who I greatly respect by the way) and I both have an equal chance at the SMU job next year, so my thoughts should equal the same.

Coach Mason..."San Antonio Mustang", "mrydel", and Turner know more about the football team than you do... Listen to "San Antonio Mustang" He says Coach Rossley would not help you.... So your meager request is DENIED! Have a good one!

Ah, yes. It's pretty obvious. I don't know on this consultant issue. If Rossley could help the team, I say do it. We all want to win. If it's throwing good money after bad, then don't.

yakastang wrote:These kids come here with the idea in their heads they are going to be properly coached in the game of football, maybe the implied promise, and that's not happening right now. Morrison admits he hasn't called plays in 18 years and he needs help in that area. Rosslely can't make calls but he can help educate Morrison in making calls and developing new plays as well. The quarter backs and receivers need his coaching as well. Have to wonder what new and potential future recruits and coaches will think when they discover that this team and there coaches did not have the full support of the school administration when they were left in a black hole but JJ. If the $ amount is any were near what was mentioned here it is really small of Dr. Turner not to put up to support these guys. I've heard it is minimal as well from other people.
Bravo Yakastang. The majority and these coaches and the support staff just suck. Especially on the offensive side where they are a mirror image of June's personality, attitude, and work ethic. In all seriousness, most of the Texas kids probably had as good or better coaching from their high school staff. The only thing that could help us right now for the rest of the year would be to get rid of Morrison and Phillips and let Mason hand-pick an offensive assistant to his liking, much like the O-Line coach he brought in. For some reason he hasn't done it and I suspect he can't because his hands are tied. Probably something in June's negotiated agreement with Hart & Turner that said these guys are off limits. Gonna be painful to watch the rest of the season if we only make minor 'tweaks' to this offense but it is what it is. Just have to ride this disaster out till December.

Rossley probably butting heads with Morrison and Phillips would have most likely created another headache. Would those 2 guys have listened to Rossley-I would have hoped so but who knows. It is a shame Morrison atleast couldn't have been jettisoned to make room for Rossley but it didn't happen so onward we go through the "Fog" and I doubt it will lift anytime soon.

GRT will be in The STL tomorrow night to thank us local yokel's for our continued financial support. Is there anything, anyone would like me to relay to him for their own benefit ?

Ask him is he committed enough to football to at least start building on an IPF by next years end?
