they're averaging 43 points/game (including hanging 70!!! on UNC). With the playoffs now in play, style points (aka large margins of victory) have got to factor into the voters' minds. There is no evidence to support them not scoring 45+ and no evidence that we can put together any semblance of an offense.

Ouch...it will be a slaughter...the points count for certain in the long run.

I'll got 55-6. I think SMU gets lucky and gets two FG's this week.

Vegas has overestimated us in every game so far this season. Spread looks a bit more realistic this time, but still going with ECU to cover.

This game is going to be ugly. ECU rolls SMU 76-3, Shane Carden looks like Manziel with our defense

I think that Vegas is now fully capturing how bad we are.

Re: Official: SMU vs. ECU (-41.5) Thread
SMU (0-4) at East Carolina (3-1) Oct. 4, 12:00, ESPNU
Here's The Deal: East Carolina emerges from its bye week as the highest-ranked Group of Five programs, courtesy of back-to-back wins over Virginia Tech and North Carolina of the ACC. However, if the Pirates are going to remain on track to cop a New Year’s Six bowl berth, it’ll have to win the American, a journey that begins with Saturday’s visit from SMU. The Mustangs are vying to become this season’s worst FBS teams, losing their first four games by a combined score of 202-12.
Why SMU Might Win: Based on the first month of results, there’s no logical or statistical evidence that the Mustangs can win in Greenville. They could, however, benefit from the intangibles. While SMU is playing with nothing to lose for interim coach Tom Mason, the Pirates are capable of looking right past this game and ahead to next week’s trip to South Florida.
Why East Carolina Might Win: SMU lacks the offensive execution to keep pace in this type of game. While the Pirates boast QB Shane Carden and a passing attack responsible for slapping 70 points on Carolina, the Mustangs are last nationally in scoring. Barring a complete reversal of recent play, SMU will be out of this one once ECU reaches 14 points, which should be by the end of the opening quarter.
Who To Watch Out For: Defense isn’t the East Carolina calling card, but the unit has done a solid job so far. LB Zeek Bigger has been one of the staples of the unit, collecting 54 tackles, including 17 in the rout of the Tar Heels. While the Pirates can be beaten, especially through the air, don’t expect SMU QB Garrett Krstich, a former walk-on, to get much time to locate an open man.
What’s Going To Happen: SMU is overmatched and already going through the motions following a hellacious first month of 2014. East Carolina, provided it plays with the requisite intensity, will open up a big cushion at halftime, before emptying the bench over the final 15 or 20 minutes.
Prediction: East Carolina 55 … SMU 13
Line: East Carolina -39.5 o/u: 61
Must Watch Factor: 5: Gone Girl – 1: Mulaney … 1.5

If I had money, I'd bet on ECU to cover. because the second I made that bet, we'd probably come out and win. Or at least not embarrass ourselves. Sadly I can't take that hit this week.
