I take it you're a fan of not keeping score and giving everyone a trophy then? I don't get why everyone is so happy. Yeah, I was glad we did better, and there was some life for once this year (thank God), but I'm in no way happy about losing. I wasn't expecting to win, or even really compete, so there was definitely some good to take away from today, but happy about a loss? Talk about battered wife syndrome......
Who cares about this season? Win out or lose out, we are just treading water til next year. Couldn't care less about these games, especially moral victories

Agreed. Sentiments like this make me feel like I've entered into eunuch loserville.

Some of us have not abandoned the team. We may not be happy with the results, nor are we optimistic about the rest of the season, but we do feel a certain amount of pride in the way the guys fought today. With little or no ammunition, they defended the fort pretty well before defeat.
Long live Inez Perez!

I guess I feel playing with pride and representing your school is a minimum expectation or something...continue freaking out. Maybe one day we can do that for an entire game! Baby steps though...

^^^^ Exactly. I never said I was happy with losing. Being encouraged is leaps and bounds above what we've seen this season. The kids are starting to actually compete. That shows something.

The improved play this week is tangible and should certainly improve morale at practice. My God they scored twice the season total number of points today. Any little sign of progress is going to help the coaches keep their attention at practice and in meetings. I thought the team gave up during the TCU game. Didn't give up today. Good to see some enthusiasm on the sideline.

While walking around wearing a SMU shirt, I was stopped on the street by a passerby. "Hey, SMU, you guys lost, but looked a lot better than last week," he said. He went on to say that he felt bad for us, and hoped the best for SMU. Pretty cool from some random college football fan.
Go Ponies!

so the coach and players continue to talk about the goal being "making it to a bowl game" which means these guys will need nothing short of a miracle...to win 6 of their last 7 games. That means every home game is a must win beginning with Cincy. I now can say I at least expect these guys to come out fighting
