any relation to Samurai Delicatessen? Derail the Frogs!
Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athleticsStallion is spot on. We have met the enemy, it is us. For all the reasons Stallion outlined, Turner is not the problem, but the solution. And, I agree, that our collective absence at games has greater impact on the perception of our program than our expectations/willingness to have others write checks. And, to those who "argue" that we need to withhold support (attendance and money) to get Administrations attention, you are 180 off.

Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athletics
![]() If RGT was fully committed to SMU athletics, this would have been the FIRST matter addressed by the President. I agree with your points about the fan base, especially over the period of time where we have actually been competitive in our conference (2009-2013). I live 1800 miles from Dallas and probably attend more home/away games than most of my graduating class (that actually live in the Metroplex). The attendance issue absolutely has to be addressed, and I agree with you that our apathetci student/alum base is the elephant in the room.
Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athleticsYeah I pretty much dealt with that issue quite thoroughly in my first 20,000 posts. Time to move on. The SMU administration has checked off just about every one of a long list of criticisms I had with the program. Now refocus on a Head Coach and staff that can recruit in Texas
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athletics
haha, point taken. ![]() Not to change the subject, but is it possible that this unparalleled start to a season (getting outscored so thoroughly and beaten so soundly) along with the tumult in conference realignment/autonomy will actually shake the trees and get everyone at SMU on the same page for once with regard to football success? I am talking board, admin, faculty, current students, young alumni, local alumni, et al? I think the SMU football program could be so powerful if we could just have a rallying cry for once and get on the same page.
Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athleticsAgreed. We need to stop living in the past and looking for the guilty. We should all be pulling in the same direction.

Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athleticsSMU has moved in the right direction in regards to listening and responding to the fanbase, so I will give them credit for that. Have not seen many Straight from the Hart's lately though..

Just one in Sept. He used to do them with more frequency.
Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athleticsI heard through the grapevine that Mike Hashimoto and Ron Wellman play in a men's bowling league together on Tuesdays. Everything is making more sense now.
Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athleticsThis thread is a good read.

Re: Turner speaks to Hashimoto/DMN about SMU athleticsAlways enlightening.
I know it's the little things, but why did they move the student groups from bishop to dallas hall for the boulevard? Was it to separate the antics that were going on from paying alumni? I wonder if that had an effect on the number of students making it to the games. If they switched and put students down near the dorms would that drive more students to the game?
