Does anyone pay attention to the Economist MBA rankings? Pretty sure US News and Business Week are the most widely-used MBA rankings

If you want a ranking that measures the MBA programs by things like "being open to new career opportunities" (35% of the ranking), professional development (35%), Salary increase (20%), and Potential to Network (10%), then the economist MBA ranking is for you.

I would turn those numbers around and suggest that the Salary Increase and Network should be 35% each with the other factors at 10% and 20%.

If you seriously want to take a look at the best MBA programs, though, you should spend your time with the BusinessWeek and US news rankings...

BTW - the 70% portion of the ranking: Being Open to Career opportunities and Professional development is based on a survey that is sent to the last two graduating classes.

SMU would be #1 in my ranking so I'm not to blame.

An MBA is about as special as a GED. Congrats to all of you who have one!

For someone who spends an awful lot of time on an SMU Football message board, you seem to have an intense hatred of the university and its alumni.

FWIW, my MBSA school isn't even ranked. Guess that puts me in the high end dummy category.

MBA school is about the connections. Give me SMU over most schools in Texas for that. (Also it was ranked tops in Texas at producing CEOs). You can learn most of the curriculum online for free. You go for the connections. (reputation DOES count, though, but I don't think we have a lot to worry about there).
