No. We won't. I just don't think football is important to SMU as an institution. I think our influential alumni and administrators just don't want it to be an embarrassment.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Well then shut the program down.

Yes. And we are now committed to making sure we move to the big boys. Listen to the President and Hart, they know more than anyone on this board.

Dude. The school will always say its "100% supportive of the program and committed to winning championships." Also, its more than just the administration. Our entire football program from the athletes, coaches, stadium, and fans reeks of small time. You've all felt it when you're sitting in Ford Stadium in the fourth quarter and it looks like a 3A high school playoff game crowd. Everything about the program is small time and small minded. Is that going to magically change in the next couple of years? I doubt it.

Well then shut it down. Shut the whole thing down. Cause once we kill FB, Basketball will soon follow. No one will sit through an 0-5 team, no one. Not a P5 and definitely not a G5 team.

2010 game vs TCU gave me a glimmer of hope that we can be in the big time. We [deleted] the bed with June, fix it with the next hire and win some football games.

And you are the first to make fun of me when I mention the need to join the arms race with BU/TCU and others.

Big 12 you are so delusional. We are in an arms race right now with our Millionaires trying to keep us in the game and it gets more lopsided every year. The university can not foot the bill for 35-40 Million dollars EVERY YEAR to keep up with the P5 schools. The only hope we have is to drive more revenue from butts in their seat

I am not delusional, you just enjoy the pain of losing.

You should be made fun of for that. We can't spend dollar for dollar with TCU on facilities, infrastructure, support, etc. Do you want to write that $20M a year check? You have to be honest with yourself on where we are. The odds of SMU having a D1A football team in 10 years, along with every other non P5 program, is 50-50. Eventually, you have to make the decision what is best for the long-term health of the university. Basketball isn't going anywhere. It costs far less to be a nationally competitive basketball program.
Back off Warchild seriously.

You like feeling miserable and the pain of losing. I am tired of losing and seeing Baylor and TCU have a top 10 battle royale while our 10 fans are waiting for basketball season because our school is 0-5 on the way to 0-12. I am tired of losing, either we are all in to make this into a premier P5 worthy football program, or shut the whole thing down and disappear into irrelevancy with baskeball in the state of Texas (no one cares about hoops in Texas FYI)

You know I'm right and it hurts your pride. Get on board with the program or GTHO.
