Methodists are not by definition anti-alcohol.

Doesn't TCU still have a religious requirement in their classes?

BTW this was supposed to be a light-hearted funny thread about god loving Catholics, Baptists and Church of Christ more because their schools are in Top 9 and the Methodist aren't and has turned into a real beat-down

+1

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: God is not a Mustang
Last I knew the Methodist Church gave scholarships to SMU and other "Methodist schools" whatever that implys. One of the reasons I support and attended SMU is I am a Methodist. By the way, I am drinking wine as I sit here and converse with you. So, I guess I'm in favor of SMU, the Methodist Church and wine.

What does the Church of Christ have to do with this discussion? Has Abilene Christian University sneaked into the Big 12?

From TCU's website:
[Quote] TCU is the largest of 14 colleges and universities associated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a denomination committed to demonstrating true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice. With the full support of the Disciples, TCU is committed to the highest standards of scholarship, affording students the rigorous challenges that make higher education worthwhile.Reflection on questions of meaning and value is crucial to genuine learning. TCU’s covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) supports an approach to education that brings together faith, reason and intellectual curiosity.Students come from more than 60 religious groups and participate in 25 recognized student religious organizations on campus, including groups for Christian, Jewish and Muslim students.[\quote]
Isn't Disciples of Christ a subset or breakaway of Church of Christ? This is too complicated

And the Methodist Church is a subset or breakaway of the old Anglican Church? Thus Episcopalian? If you don't know the difference between the Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ, well.....

I was raised Catholic, it's all a bunch of heretics to me. But on the subject, when someone days "Church of Christ", is that generally the group that split from the Disciples of Christ in 1906, the group that split in 1967, or the group that rejoined partially in 1989? All very confusing. http://disciples.org/our-identity/history-of-the-disciples/

Of course other schools founded by the Methodist Church aren't having horrid years, Duke and USC, maybe God doesn't know about their affiliation.

Baylor is a very "evangelical christian" school ever since the radical side of the Southern Baptist Convention got control of that place and decided to cram the bible down every students throat.
Dumb thread regardless (sorry Stallion)
Radical side? You mean the ones that actually follow the scripture. Why don't you keep your crazy liberal thoughts to your self rather than cramming it down our throats? - Thanks!

Well, clearly God is a Baptist...
