The State of MississippiThe State of Mississippi's top 2 football teams (MSU and Ole Miss) would dominate Baylor, TCU or any Big 12 team. And put a beat down on FSU or Notre Dame too. Yes, I said it.

Re: The State of MississippiI hate the SEC's "we are SO much better than everyone else" hype. Ole Miss and Miss St are good teams, no doubt, but to suggest then would dominate Baylor, TCU or any Big XII team is foolish. Three weeks ago Ole Miss and Memphis entered the 4Q in Oxford with Ole Miss hanging on to a 7-3 lead. They ended up winning 24-3 but it was a tight game throughout. Miss St's OOC games were South Alabama, So Miss and UAB. They only beat UAB by 13. The SEC hype machine is out of control.

Re: The State of Mississippi
I've have guzzled the Koolaid, too! And, I'm thrilled for both teams.
Re: The State of Mississippiagreed; on any given day, any of the top 15 or so teams could beat one another. I don't see any "dominant" teams out there anymore, but Mississippi's teams are clearly on a roll.
Re: The State of MississippiParity ... every year it grows (in every sport) and I like it as a football fan. I hate basically knowing what the outcome will likely be before the game even begins. The phrase "On any given day", was never more true. When was the last time anyone would/could say 2 teams from MS were two of the nations best ... good for football. Now if we can actually get someone(s) new to the title game.
Re: The State of MississippiI think we are seeing the side of the ball that is dominant in each region. MS sold are strong on defense, especially d linemen. Bama used to get a lot of defenders out of Miss. TX schools are generally stronger at the skill positions. Big 12 spends little to no effort on defense. Charlie Strong will change that at Texas.
Re: The State of Mississippithe anti-competitive effect of the BCS/P5 is creating less parity between the 2 levels of football and the NFL Undergraduate Draft has created more parity in the BCS/P5

They will choke. They always do. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: The State of Mississippi
Yes. All Big 12 is overrated this year. They will be embarrassed in the playoffs.
Re: The State of MississippiIf a team in the Big 12 even makes it in...
Re: The State of Mississippi
I don't think the Big 12 is overrated in fact I think they are better than the ACC, Big Ten or Pac 12. Just like OU did a number on Alabama last year they will be fine. I just mentioned them because SMU played Baylor and TCU. #HammerDown
Re: The State of MississippiPac 12 did well out of conference...they are killing themselves in conference. Big Ten did suck out of conference.
1) SEC 2) Pac 12 3) Big 12 4) ACC 5) Big Ten 6) American
Re: The State of MississippiStanford lost to ND, who is not a great team. USC lost at BC, not a great team. Who is the best team in the Pac 12? Oregon, Stanford, and USC all have taken a step back this year and Arizona squeaked out a win against UTSA.
SEC and the Big 12 are the two best conferences, far and away above any of the others. Pac 12 below those two, and then the ACC, Big 10, and American are hanging out below that. The team speed of the Ole Miss defense is outstanding. Tons of players who fly to the ball. They would be able to slow down any of the big 12 offenses. That said, don't forget that A&M gave them two TDs during the game, that allowed Miss to blow it open.
