Re: Last time #1Here's a question. . .let's say the field goal we missed on the last play of the 1982 Arkansas game goes in and we win the game. We then win the Cotton Bowl and finish 12-0. Do you think the AP voters would have given SMU the nod over the winner of Penn State/Georgia under those circumstances?

Yes. A 12-0 perfect season in the strongest football conference of the time would make SMU the national champion...and history would probably take a different turn in that we may have received the Miami/USC/Pedo St. Treatment rather than the DP. What if scenarios are fun! ![]()
