Problem is we won''t know for sure until it's too late to do anything about it. Mack won't just fall on his sword either, he'll bear down and throw everyone he can under the bus to save himself.

No one knows him well and that is why the if is in there. That's the problem. Big risk rewards thing throwing out that many years on a high paying contract because it attract mercenaries as well as good non mercenary coaches. Could end up with Nick Saban or could end up with another June Jones. 32 mil guaranteed means no one can take that away from you no matter how you perform.

I just read he would throw everyone under the bus. You know he is a risk. Others know he is a sure thing. The only thing we know for sure is that there is no evidence of a $4 mil 8 year contract other than one article which was said to be wrong by another writer.

No. If it is true that you sign him to an 8 year guaranteed contract that means you can't fire him. You pay someone else less with a low buyout and you can make changes if necessary.

That guy won a national title with Butch Davis's players then lost control of the program. By the time he was done at Miami, they were a mediocre team that got into a fight at a game against Florida International. He can't hold a program together

Depends on what Mack has left in the tank. If his decline at UT was just a big misunderstanding (yeah right ) and Mack is still an elite coach then we're gonna hit the jackpot. If not then get ready for another expensive boondoggle with no easy way out.
