I repeat that I am not pro or anti Brown. And I do not believe the terms. My guess is that someone leaked that we had donors ready to pay up to $4 mil for a staff and said they would be willing to commit money for up to 8 years. That could have been interpreted to paying Mack that money for that period.

There would have to be a buyout after year four or five.

I would go with that along with incentives to get to the 4 mil per year and not have it just be guaranteed money.

Back to the original post, it isn't the admin willing to spend this dough. It is at most a few donors. This could very well be a leak by them to pressure the administration to cough up what they can't cover. I don't believe MB is the hire that Hart has in mind.
