OT: Best expensive SMU long sleeve Dress Shirt

Postby ojaipony » Thu Oct 30, 2014 7:22 pm

Now that bb season is upon us and the weather is getting cooler, I'm going to do my part to turn Austin into SMU country as a walking pony billboard. Already started showing up at my gym in my moody magic gear. :-) what's the best really nice smu dress shirt out there? All the ones I see on the sports site are all button downs (prefer open collar and like French cuffs). I'd prefer a really classy navy blue with red pony or light blue /silver type. Any ideas?

I seem to recall a small SMU men's shop in the Galleria. Had some nice shirts but not sure if they were business dress style. Been a few years ago so probably not there anymore.

Could probably get one of the online made-to-measure sites to put the logo on a custom shirt

I used to have my shirts custom made at a small shop in Austin on Capital Ave. I do not remember the name but if you find them tell them I sent you. It was 40 years ago.

I lived in Austin for a few years too. Off of Greystone (I think) if that area still exists. It was on the very north edge of the city. They put in MoPac while I was there, if that still exists.

Try a custom from Hamilton Shirts down in Houston. Great family owned business. Great shirts. Great family.

If you find a custom shirt person post it here. I'd go in on an order of four or so.

Used to love my custom shirts. Now I just ask where the slim fit shirts are, and walk the opposite way.

Try Hamilton. They have reps in Dallas and Austin I believe. David and his sister Kelli are running the business now

If you have another shirt which you love the fit, you can send it to them to replicate.

Good stuff.
