BC took a washout qb from University of Florida and moved to respectability with an "inaccurate" qb. Tennessee beat South Carolina with a running qb this weekend. That's the path that we need to take. It would take too long to recruit the line needed to protect the next Tom Brady in the pocket type of qb.

Houston seems to have done the same thing by benching O'Korn and going with the little Ward kid scrambling all over the field.

If we are lucky enough to land Morris or Herman as the next coach, their offenses require a dual-threat type QB. Davis may be the best stop-gap until they can go recruit their own guy. I'm sure either guy will tweak his offense according to the talents of whoever they see as the best QB available on the roster. Something June absolutely refused to ever do.

Again, if it's Morris or Herman, I don't see where Cassel, Krstich, or the new QB recruit ever fit in?

Who would you put in as QB? Krstich?

Next season's quarterback is NOT on this season's team.

Sorry guys, I think I may have hijacked the thread. I was looking at trying to experiment with our qb's and big receivers to win one game this year. I hope we do go to a dual threat for the next regime, whether he is on our roster now or not.

speaking of tweaking the offense. Hats off the Meachum at TCU who realized in cold, rainy conditions and a heavy ball that TCU needed to adapt their offense to a strong running game which was truly impressive. Haven't seen much tweaking or adapting around here.

i caught the end of the WV and TCU game, and was impressed by tcu. I didn't think they were that good so I'm eating some partial crow. Having said that, they didn't win the game because of their offensive tweaks. they won the game because WV gave the game away. You don't commit 5 turnovers and many in your own half and still be up in the 4th quarter and only lose by 1. They handed the game to the toads, and WV's play calling at the end was also terrible. Terrible because they would have been ranked top 15 had they not had so many self-inflicted mistakes.

I would think the next coaching staff will take a long look at every one of the QBs on the roster, including Colbert and Severt.
