Other than Herman being a Texas guy, not much. Coached at Texas Lutheran, Texas, Sam Houston State, Texas State, and Rice before his stints with Iowa State and, now, Ohio State. It seems like a good fit considering SMU's recent success with the Air Raid (not to mention the state's hotbed of quarterback prospects) and Herman's love for the passing game. He'd know the pipelines and, in my opinion, would make them contenders for the AAC in 2-3 years.[/quote]
Hmmmmm, Herman's Ohio State offense actually has more rushing yards than passing yards YTD, and utilizes it's QB as a true dual-threat. That balance is what I really like vs. June's antiquated 'Air Raid' crap. I agree that he could be successful here fairly quickly if he found SMU's own 'JT Barrett' and continued to recruit well.
