The only thing that is certain is that Krstich running June's offense doesn't work!!! Is anyone still trying to argue that Krstich gives us the best chance to win when we're 0-7 and have scored 49 points in 7 games?

INSANITY: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

If these coaches cared one iota about winning, they would have used the last 2 weeks to make some offensive changes to at least pretend they're committed to achieving different results.

If we see Krstich march out there and throw a 3 yard out......handoff for 1 yard up the middle.....followed by a 3 yard curl for the standard 3 & out on the first drive (I can honestly say I wouldn't be surprised)

If they have to dumb the offense down to 10-15 plays, with a heavy dose of zone-read, and let Davis run it 40 times then so be it. June's entire offense can't be more than 20 plays from what we've all seen over the years. Force Davis to throw it 60 times in the Run & Sh*t and of course he's going to fail.

I'm on your side footbaldad. what would it hurt to allow Davis to play one whole game?

uh......absolutely nothing. My fear is they just make him sit back there in the June offense and make route adjustment reads all day on our famous 3 yard outs and curls. Whooppeee! Go back and pull out the Gilbert film where he was allowed to use his legs to make some plays and let Davis gain some confidence. Wasn't it actually a Tulsa game that Gilbert killed them with his legs? Not saying the kid is Peyton Manning, but give him some rollouts and stuff so he can see the field and make some plays.

This isn't rocket science!!! All this guru stuff is BS. Zone reads, screens, draws, bootlegs, rollouts, some run game with Line as H-back/lead blocker, etc. etc.

These f*ckin coaches have all day, every day, to figure out a way to at least be competitive with these sh*tty teams in our league and they can't even do that???? I literally think we could put together a staff of 10 from Ponyfans.com and do better. I kid you not.

I coached peewee football one year and we were terrible. Smaller and slower than everyone else in the league. Started running a 10-1 defense after the second game and didn't get scored on the rest of the year! :D :D Come on SMU, figure it out!!! Still have a good laugh to this day listening to the other coaches and parents [deleted] and moan that they had never seen that type of defense and it shouldn't be allowed

Gotta love football!!!!

footballdad you are right about that run game emphasis. Uconn took a WR, put him at qb and beat UCFl using zone read. It's not that difficult to figure out. Also, we have some big athletic guys on the team, (Hipps, Gaines and those guys) put them all on the filed at the same time, with Line and Davis. Zone read is about OPTIONS!! Give yourself some options. We need to have a Tom Brady qb, and a Patriots o line to run this current offense. We need to stop wishing for better tools in our toolbox and start using the ones that we got in the box right now.

The only game we moved the ball in at all was against ECU, and that was a dumbed down offense where we pretty much ran the same WR set every single time with three on one side.

With Davis, tweak that one more time. Two WR on each side, run the zone read every single play. If it is a pass, then play-action the zone read, have one side of the field be the "active side" with one medium and one deep pattern. Other side of the field both go deep to clear out space. Make the two reads on the active side and if nothing is there, run scramble like flannigan. Run deep routes all over the place and if you can get a 50% completion ratio it keeps the other team honest enough to make the run successfull.

Forget about the high completion percentage stuff. The only time we make first downs consistently is when we go for it on every fourth down. Have we even scored on a drive this year where we didn't go for it at least once during the drive?

Would not even have to be right now. If it happens a little later it would still be quite crazy.
