Rumor I heard is we obviously have donors who are giving a ton and sitting up top, and then people like me who give what they can but are down low. I heard they might try and grandfather those of us in who have been sitting by ourselves for the past 15 years......all alone in what was the moody morgue. Not saying our ticket prices won't go up a little, but I think they are trying to not screw the faithful few hundred....which is very appreciated. Who knows what will happen though.

I hope they. Sure I'd love to upgrade but not at the cost of the most loyal fans.

Prices will go up, however I cannot imagine donation minimums going up by a factor of 4. Even after grandfathering in that will make it tough to sell the remaining.

If I have tickets this season will I get first dibs on them next season? I understand there will be a price increase but will I get first shot at the tickets I bought this year?

I just checked the donation levels again... 4 times as much isn't too unreasonable. I would pay that to get midcourt.

Yes you get the first right to buy your tickets next year. However they have already indicated that they are moving to require a mustang club donation for each individual seat rather than 1 donation for all of your seats. Thus if you have 4 seats you will add on the cost of 3 additional mustang club donations.

As far as grandfathering goes, I believe they will be looking at those who had seats for the last four years. I believe that number is below five hundred ticket holders. I understand that the rest of the 'deck' will be 'reshuffled.' I believe OTP is correct in saying that each seat will require a donation, so a loge of four seats will be 20k donation plus 4k for tickets which will not apply towards football.

It would hurt me but I think it would be nice to reward those that endured the near empty arena days.

2000 for 4 midcourt sounds reasonable to me. Maybe a bit on the high side.

It's probably still lower than some of our conference-mates. I know, I know, show me the baby. But we have to get there somehow.

That already happened in the poor man's section. Donation was per seat.

I think that only happened this year because those weren't season tickets last year. Also the mustang club donation per seat started this year with an one year exception for season ticket holders from the previous year and only on the previously purchased seats (if you went from 4 to 6 you paid extra MC donations).

It's a house of cards. When Brown retires, there's no promise that SMU will remain relevant. Just being realistic. Duke dreads the day that Coach K retires. Just a fact.

I can't imagine they raise the prices like they did last year, I'm also shocked at the passiveness towards it on the board. Interesting fan base to say the least. And that's not a shot at the fans, love all you guys and the support your giving the team, they certainly deserve it.

That is because this is a fan base scorned. Desperate for a reason to cheer. Price isn't the biggest concern. I agree with the football post earlier. To quote the great "Tora Tora Tora" SMU sports fan base is a sleeping giant. The basketball fan base has been awoken. Football can be the same.

That being said I agree, however the pieces have been put into place for sustainability. We don't need to be Duke... yet. Gonzaga Georgetown etc is where we need to be.

I've had season tickets to basketball six of the last 7 years
and no I'm not okay with paying 7000 dollars for two floor seats.
Will I do it if we stay relevant absolutely - what I won't do is pay a separate donation for Football on 4 - 50 yard line seats I've had for 7 years even if they hire Jesus Christ himself. Well ill think about it...
