I think it is funny that the committee points out Baylor's lack of wins against top 25 teams when it is Baylor's drubbing of OU that caused them to drop out of the top 25. That is almost like saying if Baylor had lost to OU in a close game they would be rated higher.

hate to burst your bubble but that 'ain't gonna happen'. If anything Urban will run up the score as mu'ch as he can since the 'committee' is looking at the margin of victory in their placing of the top 4.

Gonna be a lot of mad froggies when Alabama beats Miss State and both are in the top 4 and then Baylor leapFROGS TCU in the last week for the 4th position after MSU, Alabama and either Oregon, ASU or Oh State

I really see a lot of scenarios that lock out the SEC totally. And it would be because of the championship game. It is not a level field with one conference not having a championship when the rest do. Of course it is not fair that most conferences do not play everyone in their conference. They need to get on the same page.

Alabama still has Mississippi St and Auburn plus a possible SEC Championship to get there-NOT TO MENTION West Carolina!

TCU is still sitting pretty because they don't have a Big 12 Championship.

(In my mind that's another great reason to exclude all Big 12 teams. Wouldn't mind if the entire Big 12 got screwed every year until they go to 12 and play a Championship game like every other conference)

An argument can be made the Big 12 schedule hurts for 2 reasons. First, as you note, there is no championship game.

Also, because they play a 9 game Conference schedule, they have 1 less non-Conference game. Desire to have at least two of those games at home makes scheduling a Power 5 team harder. That being said, TCU figured it out. Coincidentally, the last competitive non-conference opponent Baylor scheduled since Briles was hired was TCU.

Same way TCU beat Okie St and West Va which knocked them both out of the top 25. I am already sick of all the talking about it. Just play the season out and have the debate in a month. I bet at least 3 of top 6 lose a game anyway.

still a lot of football to be played but right now this new and improved system is as much or more of a cluster than what we've had since the inception of the BCS. Which conference(s) get hosed?

But but but they have a REAL champion!

(Despite the fact that the reason they play everyone is because there was a mass exodus from the conference)

Here's an ironic twist of fate on Art Briles' situation with Baylor as it stands now.

y'all remember not too many years back when Texas beat OU in a classic
hard fought game?
Texas later lost to Tech in a heart breaker at end of season.
Then Tech got blasted by OU.

Briles voted OU over Texas, and voted Texas over Tech in that final poll.
His ox might get gored this time by the same reasoning.
Beat the hell out of anybody!

I will give you your argument there. I did not know what happened with the TCU schedule in that regard. Only saw the Baylor example in a committee write up this week. I have no problem with TCU other than my earlier mentioned jealousy. But if I were on the committee I would be looking at wins and losses first and head to head second. They are not considering head to head until last.

Interesting that the fellows talking about football on ESPN and Yahoo Sports are now using the term "The Baylor Way" to describe a strategy for getting to the final four. "The Baylor Way" means scheduling teams like Incarnate Word and Liberty College and Lamar and Buffalo and Wofford, etc, as preseason warm-ups. Guarantee yourself three wins to start the season, then hope to win out. That's "The Baylor Way".

I doubt that at the end of the season that TCU and BU are in the final 4 games. IMO there will be too many 'high profile' teams to choose from and they both will be on the outside looking in.
