Yup. They (NC) didn't look bad at all, actually. Shot the hell out of the ball early, which put them up big, and hung on when SMU closed the gap in the second half. Ponies are very young (5 freshmen played, plus a transfer in her first SMU game, plus veteran who missed most of last season). For most of them, it was their first time playing together, and at times, it looked like it. Rhonda Rompola said there were times when the communication wasn't there, and she was right. She already has said that this team will have growing pains, and that's not just coach-speak — it's true. But there is some talent there, too. Should be an interesting season.
