Long live Inez Perez!

No footballdad, it's not vitriol from us vetern fans. It's exhaustion.
We all knew it would be a bad year. Everyone could see the program atrophy after the ASU debacle. We all knew this program was going in the wrong direction.
We knew it would be bad this year. But this bad?
How can a team with top notch facilities, liberal admissions standards, beautiful campus in a major metropolitan area be the WORST team in the country?
And we were the worst team in the country 7 years ago! And we were the worst team in the country Bennetts first year.
Sorry . I'm exhausted. I will buy my tickets, make my donation ( both to MC and to a few academic programs) but I won't attend games until I see evidence of a competent team. I'm tired of watching this crap that's rolled out. And I think- judging from the attendance- many others feel the same way.

RGT has been here for 20+ years and for an extended period did nothing to build a top level fball program.
Wow, that's amazing. Thought you were just another one of these young jealous whiners on the board that has never played football. But no, actually a 70ish angry old man that has nothing better to do than spew hatred on an internet board. Really pathetic, should take a long hard look in the mirror grandpa.
Why are you criticizing this man?

Oh it's vitriol, but par for the course. If everyone is so exhausted and disgusted probably best if they just get off the board and stop coming to games, etc., until the team is up to par with their expectations. Like you said, a few hundred fans one way or the other isn't gonna make a difference, especially the ones who hate everything about the program. Go away for a while, no problem.

Why not? Just balancing out his hatred for the program with equal criticism for his pathetic fandom.

No offense fbdad. But you aren't a fountain of positivity yourself.

Want to go in together for some Arkansas season tickets? They get it and are doing it right.

Footballdad you are new to the SMU football experience.
I have endured this caning for 30+ years.
I will go away. Like you said.... Big deal. Who needs a few hundred fans. However, when you see 2000 fans at UH - this does represent 10% of your prospective attendance!
I love SMU, I support the school's mission to educate young people and provide a catalyst to attract talent to Dallas. I will continue to support SMU. As you would expect I'm also a BBall season ticket holder and have been for many years.
But yes, I will go away.

Agreed. I'm 100% positive about the team and players. Not so much about a lot of the other nonsense I disagree with on this board. I'm tryin.

A little surprised by the degree of negativity from, when you step back and think about it, a completely, totally, utterly meaningless game. I could care less if we won or loss. Of course I prefer winning but part of me likes a winless season to cement JJ's legacy.
Am excited about our new hire and especially interested in seeing what inroads he can make this year in recruiting.
And as ticked off as I have been over the years, I never lose sight of our potential, especially when considering our conference mates. We should have dominated the WAC & C-USA, we certainly can dominate the AAC.
Oh, and one last comment. Who the heck scheduled a night game in November?

One more thing, footbaldad. From your comment about a team that lives up to my expectations.
You are implying that I expect a Baylor type team before I will attend more games.
No how about this expectation? How about expecting the team not to be sthe worst team in the country? How about expecting seeing a team that can tackle and how about this.... Not get humiliated by UNT another bottom 10 team.
Please footbaldad ... I'm not expecting to see Alabama. How about a team that is 80th rated in the country? How about a team that was on par with LouisianaTech?
Please. After 30 years my expectations have been beaten down to anything better than dead last!

Wow, finally a rational, thoughtful comment on this thread. Kudos SoCal A meaningless game, in which we were very competitive and should have won, lost again by an incompetent staff, and like clockwork here come the calls to SHUT DOWN THE PROGRAM, SHUT DOWN THE PROGRAM, THE SKY IS FALLING, ITS DEFINITELY THE END OF THE WORLD THIS TIME! Such a predictable group.
