Patterson isn't going anywhere. there is no pressure, and he may end up in the 4 team playoff, and might actually win a national champ if that happens. TCU will pay him whatever he wants, and he likes Ft. Worth. why leave.

Mullen is going to get paid by Miss St. he isn't going anywhere. similar situation to Fatterson. he got FREAKING MISSISSIPPI STATE to #1. yeah, they lost a game, and may lose to ole miss, but state gets the same amount of money from the SEC as FL. they'll throw WHATEVER it takes to keep him. he will be paid, and i know folks in starkvegas. he's already a deity - it wouldn't surprise me if there's a statue erected after this seasons. if he went to the Gators, he's on the chopping block from day 1.

Freeze may move. that's the only one of those top guys I see making a move. but i doubt that too.

morris wants to be back in TX.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Gary aint leaving and fla would not want him. No SEC history. I could see Mullen taking it - play in the much weaker sec east. Better recruiting footprint. Etc,

Patterson knows that winning in the Big 12 is a lot easier than winning in the SEC.

At least Muschamp sucked it up and stayed through the end of a bad final season.

I think Muschamp can coach. I think Muschamp can recruit. I think Muschamp will get another shot someday. I think Muschamp will be successful.

I would look at him.

Muschump inherited a national power with everything he could possibly want (except an IPF). All he had to do was maintain what was there. He failed spectacularly.

Why would anyone think that he would do well coaching at SMU?

most of Florida's problems have been on offense-they have a Top 20 Defense in the SEC. (In their 2 losing seasons they were 98th and 114th in Total Offense). Not bad. He has 2 National Championships on his resume as a Defensive Coordinator. He's had the Nation's Top Defense and his recruiting is outstanding. He's a no-brainer as a Defensive Coordinator. In fact, if SMU were willing to pay big bucks for top flight proven Offensive Coordinator to match with Muschamp I wouldn't have a problem with him as SMU's next Head Coach. Look at his Florida problems-they never could find an offense

Would be great to have a high profile defensive coordinator to go with a sharp you offensive mind. Covering multiple coaching generations is a good thing - as opposed to the AARP we just finished with.

Where are you getting that second NC from? I only count one (2003 LSU).

Oh right I was thinking UT but that was in 2005. They did play in the National Championship in his last year at Texas

His last year at Texas was 2010 (the 5-7 season). 2009 was the year they played for the NC versus Bama.

Huh. Forgot about McElwain. I knew he had Colorado State rolling, didn't even think about him at UF.

McElwain has done some nice things at C-Sate, a program that has not see a lot of bright spots in recent years. Close friend of mine son finished out at C-State last year and really liked the staff. Interesting fact, McElwain and Mason are very close friends and coaching buddies. When June made his ASU dance, McElwain was just arriving at Colorado Springs from Bama, and he reached out to Mason to gauge interest.

Maybe T-Tech should go after Muschamp. All they have ever really lacked to be a serious contender over the last many years, is a solid and consistent "D".
