The Big D Uniform/Helmetwith a new Head Coach coming in hopefully one that will be redirect our focus to Dallas and Texas next year's opener is the time to introduce a one-time tricked out look with a unique Ode to Dallas and Texas. But Dallas is classy not a trendy transformer look. Someone come up with some ideas. Example A Mustang on a State of Texas outline with Dallas or Big D somewhere on the uniform sleeves maybe over a modest Texas star on the shoulder pad sleeve as a nod to the Cowboys. Coordinate with media promotions emphasizing SMU as Dallas's team. Sell complementary T-Shirts with similar theme. Reinforce our dedication to Dallas which is theme we are trying to emphasize

Re: The Big D Uniform or Helmetdid the Kansas City Chiefs do a throw back honoring the Dallas Texans? An SMU version of this helmet could work

Re: The Big D Uniform/HelmetDallas skyline is very recognizable, can go on helmet or uniform
"I think Couchem is right."

Re: The Big D Uniform/HelmetI bet 60% of the casual College Football fans don't even know SMU is in Dallas. Hell a bunch of Dallas citizens don't know where SMU is. I've met them. If we are tying our future to the fact we are in Dallas- then let's sell it. I've always wanted an SMU T-Shirt like that

Re: The Big D Uniform/HelmetBefore reading all these posts I said 'T-shirts & bumper stickers', there were tons handed out during the Mustang Mania days.
3 other thoughts 1) Promote the heck out of the Blvd, our most marketable asset. 2) Make sure the causal fan feels welcome on the Blvd including activities for kids and adults (we do have a world class arts & music school), and food & drink at very reasonable prices. Make sure everything is communicated EASILY for someone with an IQ of 80 who has never stepped foot on our campus. Remember, many non-alum may feel intimidated by our school. 3) Have state-of-the-art WiFi inside Ford. That's the new reality. People get bored spending 3.5 hours watching almost any event, certainty an SMU fb game.
Re: The Big D Uniform/HelmetAlso, let's win.
Re: The Big D Uniform/Helmet
State-of-Texas tricked-up logos are overused by countless high schools throughout the state. Very high school/TECHish/Dallas Texans - in other words, highly unoriginal and tired. SMU's days as Dallas' team are over. Ain't nobody got time for that..... unless we can win with uniform gimmicks.

Re: The Big D Uniform/HelmetWin. No need for a uniform change.
About 25 feet from the Hillcrest track... With the boots so tall and the writing on the wall...
The Big D Uniform/Helmet
This. Our unis are nice and Most people know where SMU is. But we suck right now...which is why no one comes to games, not even our alumni.

Captain Obvious, is that you? Peruna is my mascot!
Re: The Big D Uniform/HelmetI actually really liked the 'leather helmet' look the Aggies came up with a few games agao. Maybe we could do something akin to that representing the Rose Bowl team that put Texas football on the map.
