Very nice to see the Mustangs and the Bears resuming their series together.

It would be even better if the two programs could finally get it into gear, and make it into a national interest game.

Not to be an alarmist, but could this mean we might not be playing the Horny Toads in 2006?

That's right. No TCU in 2006.

I would love to see Baylor become a long term opponent. They are our most natural rival IMO. Hated to see that series end.

Also, would love to see Arkansas again onour schedule - I know the Dallas Pig fans would love to see it too.

Hard to imagine we won't be playing TCU in 2006, but remember we weren't supposed to be playing them two years ago when they moved to CUSA. Fortunatley, Houston let us out of a home/home contract we had with the Cougars and allowed us to continue the TCU series. Where there's a will, there's a way. Let's just hope we do as good a job, or better, than TCU has in rebuilding our football program so our annual game with the Frogs will be worthy of regional or national TV and can be scheduled during rivalry week like it is next year.

I'd like to see the remaining cracks filled in with some more local opponents, even if it's the Mean Green or somebody. Though I have nothing against the ACC, the Carolina and Wake series' will not do a whole lot for attendance at Ford. Wake had a great year (for them) this year, but hell, schedule somebody who generates local interest of any kind. It is my contention that McNeese St. would put more butts in the seats than North Carolina. Of course we run a risk of losing to McNeese, they're actually pretty good. Whatever. It just seems to me we need to start filling that stadium by any means necessary, whether it be with our fans (preferable) or their fans. If we want to generate local interest, Ford needs to LOOK like a happenin place, and at present, it does not.
