Good news bad news for a CUSA team coming

Postby RGV Pony » Tue Oct 11, 2005 2:02 pm

Good news: Well, good job, you're going to a bowl game!

Bad news: It's in Lafayette!

DMN article today says it's likely the bowl will be moved from the Superdome to Cajun field this year.

That sucks. Why don't they move the game to the Cotton Bowl? It isn't being used during the early bowl season, and the attendance would probably be a lot better than Lafayette, LA.
Just send 'da money.

It would be great to play the game in Dallas, but Layayette is a great city and a great place to visit. They have had the largest Mardi Gras celebration outside of New Orleans, and it might be the largest this coming year. I wouldn't mind going to Lafayette at all if SMU had the chance.

I don't care if we went to a bowl game played in Bunkie, La or Gobber, Ark., I would be there. It has been too long since we went bowling that I wouldn't kow the difference between a big city bowl and a little city bowl.. To me, a bowl would represent a successful season.

Somebody give Copeland a ride over to Irving (CUSA offices) & have him throw the keys to FORD on the desk of the Commish.

Good PR & TV exposure.
